IADC Honors Transocean’s Terry Loftis with Exemplary Service Award

Houston, 3 October 2013 – IADC recently awarded Terry Loftis, a pioneer of the IADC Advanced Rig Technology (ART) Conference, with an Exemplary Service Award for his contributions to the ART Drilling Controls Systems Subcommittee. Mr. Loftis, director of engineering for Transocean, received his award during the opening ceremonies of the IADC Advanced Rig Technology Conference on 17 September.

Mr. Loftis joined Transocean in 1997, relocating to South Korea for shipyard construction of new-generation deepwater rigs. Throughout his career, Mr. Loftis has been active in the company’s engineering development and new-build programs. He was a consultant for MODU construction for Transocean in the  mid-1980s working on semisubmersible design and construction. A decade later, he worked on design of deepwater drillships.
