Basin United Completes Mock Pilot Course at Precision Drilling

Last week, members of the Basin United’s Steering Panel converged on Precision Drilling’s training facility in Houston, Texas. For two days, training providers from Precision Drilling presented the pilot of Basin United’s safety orientation.

Committed to the goal of improving safety in the Permian, Basin United is an industry-led group of onshore upstream stakeholder companies, including but not limited to: Chevron, XTO, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, AESC and IADC.

This small group of HSE experts, representing Operator and Contractor interests across the Permian, sat in the pilot run of Basin United’s safety training course. These experts experienced the course just like trainees would, but, with years of experience under their belt, we able to provide feedback.

This mock pilot is key part in creating the Basin United curriculum, allowing for refinement of course content and facilitation prior to taking the live pilot to frontline workers and supervisors in early November.
