Jason McFarland serves as the Association’s President. He previously held the dual positions of Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief of Staff. Mr McFarland graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston – Downtown Campus with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He has served in numerous capacities during his career at IADC, including: management and oversight of the Association’s Publications and Membership departments; staff support for the Ethics, Contracts and Technical Publications Committees; and liaison for IADC’s global network of Chapters.

Elizabeth “Liz” Leoty Craddock serves as Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs and manages the Washington, D.C. office for IADC. Her role is to develop sound policy and legislative solutions for IADC members at the state and Federal level. She also represents IADC to Congress and the Administration.

Mrs. Craddock has over 10 years of Congressional experience, most recently working as Staff Director of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. She has a BA in Political Science and a BS in Public Relations from the University of Florida and a law degree from Tulane University Law School. She is also a member of the District of Columbia bar.

Amy Rose is Director of External Relations, responsible for public relations, education initiatives and media outreach. Before joining IADC, Ms Rose managed national and international media relations activities for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a major multi-center nonprofit hospital system. Ms Rose was instrumental in developing and implementing a media-relations strategy that resulted in high-profile media placements in print and television. She is a graduate of John Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Jim Rocco is Senior Director, Government and Industry Affairs – Offshore. Jim joined IADC after retiring at the rank of Commander from the US Coast Guard with 23 years of active duty service. His role is to facilitate the development and use of industry standards and regulatory provisions that underpin safe and efficient Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) activities. Jim earned his MBA with a focus in finance from Northern Illinois University, and a Masters of International Public Policy with a focus on energy resources from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University.

THAD DUNHAM

DIRECTOR, GOVERNMENT & INDUSTRY AFFAIRS – OFFSHORE

Thad Dunham currently serves as Director, Government and Industry Affairs for IADC. Prior to joining IADC, Mr. Dunham successfully founded an oilfield consulting company focused on performance improvement for drillers, operators, and service companies. He has also logged substantial field time as a process engineer for NOV’s rig design team. In this role at IADC, he is responsible for offshore state and federal regulatory matters. He also serves as a liaison to regulatory authorities and industry trade associations. Thad holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Purdue University.

Bob Warren serves as Vice President – Government and Industry Affairs – Onshore. He began his career as a roughneck on drilling rigs in West Texas. After earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech and a Far East tour of duty, he served 13 years in country management roles in Iran, Libya, and the Arabian Gulf Region. After completing an MBA at the University of Texas, Mr Warren joined Pride International where he served as Vice Presidents of Russia, Marketing, Investor Relations, and Industry Affairs, retiring in 2011 after 20 years of service. He has completed the Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Program at Harvard Business School, and received the IADC Exemplary Service Award in 2010.

Rhett Winter is Director, Government and Industry Affairs – Onshore and provides full-time support to the Operational Integrity group to promote the activities of the Onshore Division. He serves as liaison to the Rig Moving  and HSE Committee and the organization in general. Prior to joining IADC, Mr Winter worked onshore for Helmerich & Payne and Nomac Drilling Corporation as a roughneck, derrickman and Driller. Mr Winter holds a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Texas A & M University.

Steve Kropla is Vice President – Special Projects & Member Initiatives. Mr Kropla serves as Project Coordinator of the RAPID-S53 BOP Reliability JIP, as well as General Secretary of the Well Control Institute.  He is also a member of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers’ Wells Expert Committee, where he is vice chairman of the Well Control Systems Subcommittee. Mr Kropla joined IADC in 1992 after many years’ experience in the drilling industry in Alaska and the lower 48 US states. His duties included health and safety, training, and responsibility for a broad range of human resources issues. He holds a BS degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University and an MS in human resources management and development from Chapman University in Orange, California. Mr Kropla is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Holly Shock is responsible for general administration and coordination of IADC’s various standing committees, as well as other groups and subcommittees. She previously served as IADC’s Operations Group Coordinator until 2009. She holds a BBA from the University of Central Oklahoma, and is also a Certified Paralegal through the University of Houston.

Angie Gunden is the Senior Director of Marketing and Membership, responsible developing and executing IADC’s marketing strategy. Prior to joining IADC she managed marketing activities for various business units at Weatherford International for almost ten years. Ms Gunden has more than a decade of experience in marketing management and communications. She holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Goshen College. Ms Gunden is a member of the American Marketing Association and has served on the board and held various volunteer positions for the Houston Chapter.

Anthony Garwick is Director of Web and Information Technology Services, with responsibility for IADC’s information/communication systems and online platforms. He also serves as Webmaster/Photographer/Videographer. Anthony specializes in Website/Database Administration, Enterprise Systems Management, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media & Internet Marketing, HTML5/PHP, and Mobile UIX. Examples of his work can be seen at IADC.org, DrillingContractor.org, WellControlInstitute.org, and IADCLexicon.org. Prior to his role at IADC, Anthony designed award-winning web applications for major advertising agencies and media companies. His technique was developed at Savannah College of Art & Design. Mr Garwick is currently working with the Python and Java application programming languages.

Mark Denkowski is Vice President – Accreditation Operations. He directs all operations of IADC accreditation programs, program development and implementation, general communications, and administration. Mr Denkowski has over 30 years of industry experience. Offshore he has worked in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and West Africa for Smedvig Asia, Santa Fe and GlobalSantaFe. Onshore Mr Denkowski has worked for GlobalSantaFe as an International Employment Manager, for Transocean as the North American Employment Manager, and most recently as the Training & Development Manager for Frontier Drilling. While with Frontier Drilling Mr Denkowski was a member of the IADC Training Committee and the Chairman of the IADC Competency Assurance Panel. He has a BS degree in Earth and Mineral Science from Pennsylvania State University.

Brooke Polk directs the development of new accreditation and certification programs, technology systems, and revision of existing programs, products, and systems. In addition, she manages IADC special projects and industry initiatives as well as participates as an IADC representative on multiple industry committees. She earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Technology Leadership from McNeese State and a Master of Education degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Stephen F. Austin University. She has a BS degree in Education. She formerly served as an education administrator, education curriculum director, curriculum designer, trainer, and program developer.

Alma Roberts is responsible for directing program operations, sustaining program quality, client relations and revenue performance for the Accreditation Division. She participates as an IADC representative on multiple industry committees and is ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certified.   Her background includes over 20 years of management experience, with an emphasis on relationship management.

Marlene Betancourt is responsible for the overall day-to-day management and accreditation of IADC’s WellSharp, WellCAP and WellCAP Plus programs.  Preceding IADC, Ms. Betancourt had 14 years of experience at Coastal Corporation in Accounting, Marketing and Shareholder Relations. She is also fluent in Spanish to assist with IADC members in Latin America.

COMPETENCE & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Patty Tydings has 25 years of experience in adult education, including 8 as a university instructor and 10 in curriculum design, instructor development, and training for the oil and gas industry. Ms. Tydings was a consultant for several years and then, in 2013, joined IADC full time to serve as a specialist in developing training and assessment accreditation programs. In 2010, Ms. Tydings was a consultant for BP and worked in the Crisis Command Center during the Macondo response. She has also consulted for ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, and other major O&G companies. In addition to earning a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Ms. Tydings was awarded a Texas Teaching Certificate (in 2001) and has certifications in facilitation and internal auditing.

Cynthia Montero oversees our Drilling Industry Training program (DIT) and Competence Assurance Program.  Cynthia’s background includes more than 20 years of international banking, title insurance, and real estate experience where she oversaw property sales and mortgage financing for development projects in Mexico and Latin America. She earned her BBA degree in Marketing at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. In addition, Ms. Montero holds a Texas Educator Certificate for Generalist and Bilingual Education and has an Instructor certification from IACET and ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.

Kristin Blissit is the document control coordinator within IADC’s Accreditation and Credentialing Division under the Program Development Group. In her role, Kristin is responsible for document control, form development and revision, coordination of the Gateway accreditation program, and assisting with program development special projects. She has been in the Oil and Gas industry for 4 years and has completed an Oil and Gas Floorhand Program. In addition, she is a U.S. Navy Seabee veteran who is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Business Management.

Olaf Martinez is the document control coordinator for IADC’S Accreditation and Credentialing Division. He is responsible for the creation, revision, and distribution of controlled documents and forms, in accordance with ACD’s Quality Management System and its Standard Operating Procedures. Olaf has over 10 years of experience in the petroleum industry. His experiences include engineering support and document control with McDermott International, Petrofac, and National Oilwell Varco. Major projects Olaf has contributed to include Vaalco’s Etame Project and Chevron Wheatstone LNG.

JOHN TRAN

TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS COORDINATOR

John is responsible for IADC’s database and for providing technical support to the Accreditation team and our accredited training providers. John contributes an excellent level of customer service and technical knowledge to IADC with his BBA studies in Computer Information Systems.

Keegan Mounce, oversees and directs all aspects of the QA/QC Division, including auditor training, development and implementation of Quality Assurance and auditing for new programs, communications with training providers and auditors, and operational aspects of QA/QC. He also manages the yearly audit schedules for accredited training providers across all training programs, as well as the training provider appeals process. Keegan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from McNeese State University and brings to IADC 8 years of oil and gas experience, primarily on the service side of the industry. He is a certified Petrochemical Quality Professional, Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Intergraded Management System Auditor.

Ryan Mahoney is responsible for ensuring training providers conform to the quality standards set forth by IADC’s Accreditation and Credentialing Division. Additionally, he assists with internal auditing related to IADC’s ISO-certified quality management system. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and a Certificate in Corporate Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston. Previously, Ryan worked as a Quality Coordinator for a large industrial distribution company that supplied the oil and gas industry and worked in the Operations Department of a shipping repair and fabrication company.

Linda Hsieh is Editor/Publisher of Drilling Contractor magazine. She is responsible for planning and developing content for the magazine, the Drilling Contractor website and DC’s electronic newsletters. Ms Hsieh is a graduate of the journalism program at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also completed the Business Foundations program at the U.T. McCombs School of Business and minored in Asian Studies. She has more than 10 years of experience in communications and publishing and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Bill Krull serves as Global Sales Manager for the Association. In this role, he manages global advertising sales for Drilling Contractor magazine, as well as digital and online revenue streams. Additionally, he manages the IADC Bookstore and sales of IADC’s educational publications. Mr. Krull has been a member of the American Marketing Association for over two decades holding many leadership roles including serving as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Krull graduated magna cum laude from Walden University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration marketing. Mr. Krull is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he earned the Army Achievement Medal and Cold War Service recognition from the Department of Defense.

Mike DuBose serves as IADC’s Vice President – International Development. Mr DuBose began his career with Rowan Companies, at the entry level position of a roustabout in the Gulf of Mexico in 1978. He worked offshore for the next 17 years at positions including driller, and OIM. He moved into shore based management and accepted positions with increasing levels of responsibility in the US, UK, Aberdeen and Nova Scotia, all with Rowan. Mr DuBose served as vice president of drilling operations for Southeast Asia, where he oversaw offshore operations in SE Asia for 4 jackup units. He retired from Rowan in 2013 after 35 years with the company. Mr DuBose holds a master of science degree from the University of Aberdeen.

REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT – EUROPEAN OPERATIONS

Jens Hoffmark serves as IADC’s Regional Vice President – European Operations Denmark and directs the Association’s technical and regulatory activities throughout the continent. As such, Mr Hoffmark is chief liaison for the European Operations Forum, and supports IADC conferences and other initiatives in the region. Mr Hoffmark joined IADC in 2010 after a 40-year career with AP Moeller-Maersk, where he served in numerous management and operations positions both for drilling and shipping. In 2007, Mr Hoffmark was named Vice President-Business Development for Maersk drilling, based in Houston.

Hisham ZebianHISHAM ZEBIAN

REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE – MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA

Hisham Zebian represents IADC as our Regional Representative for the Middle East & Africa. Originally from the Republic of Lebanon, Mr. Zebian graduated from the American University of Beirut with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. His experience is primarily with the service side of the industry in both operational and business development roles. He is fluent in both Arabic and English and is a resident of Dubai.

Chit Hlaing supports IADC members and activities throughout Asia. Among his responsibilities are coordinating operational functions, promoting IADC accreditation programs and membership, and supporting conferences and chapters in the region. A native of Myanmar, Mr Hlaing graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. with a bachelor of science in engineering and worked for various oilfield service companies before joining IADC.

Derek MorrowDEREK MORROW

REGIONAL DIRECTOR – AUSTRALASIA

Derek Morrow has more than 40 years’ experience with the drilling industry in the UK and Australia, primarily with management and development of both large and small engineering and construction projects. As IADC Regional Director – Australasia, he is currently engaged in a wide range of issues to assist IADC members Australia and southeast Asia, including ongoing maintenance of the IADC HSE Case Guidelines to incorporate ongoing regulatory changes in Australia. He has served on the National Oil and Gas Safety Advisory Committee, the Australian Oil & Gas Industry Training Consortium, and is a member and former Chair of the advisory board of the National Drilling & Well Control Programme at the University of New South Wales. In 1999 he was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Australian Institute of Petroleum “for meritorious service on behalf of the Petroleum Industry in Australia.” In 2010 he was presented with an IADC Exemplary Service Award, given to recognize individuals for their outstanding contribution to the drilling industry.

Derek HartDEREK HART

REGIONAL DIRECTOR – NORTH SEA

Derek Hart has been named Regional Director ­ North Sea, with responsibility for advocating for IADC members in the North Sea area and supporting activities of the IADC North Sea Chapter. With more than 32 years in the offshore oil and gas industry, Derek began his career in the British Merchant Navy. He then joined Transocean, where he spent 27 years, first as Control Room Operator and Barge Master and OIM, before transferring onshore in 1992 to the Aberdeen QA/Safety Department. He then accepted a role as QHSE Manager for the North Sea in 1994 and was promoted to QHSE Manager for Europe and Africa in 2005. He was seconded to the Macondo investigation in 2010 and 2011, before returning to the North Sea and retiring from Transocean in early 2015.

REGIONAL ADVISOR – BRAZIL

Roberto Paschoalin is Regional Advisor – Brazil. In this role, he supports IADC members in the Brazil region and advocates on the association’s behalf with local regulators. Roberto has more than 37 years of experience in the oil and gas market in Brazil, 22 of which he spent with Petrobras in a variety of management positions.

He has a BA from the University of Sao Paulo, a MsC in Subsea Engineering from the University of Cranfield in the United Kingdom and an MBA from Fundacao Getulio Vargas.

Dean Gant, Senior Director of Finance, is responsible for all aspects of IADC’s financial management. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, a member of Beta Alpha Psi, an Honor Accounting Fraternity, and has a Bachelor of Business Administration. As a CPA, Mr Gant has over 20 years experience in systems accounting for large and medium size firms.

Cynthia PhillipsCYNTHIA PHILLIPS

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Cynthia Phillips is responsible for assisting the Business Leadership Team in preparing annual budgets and monthly financial reports as well as systems integration support, including implementation for new and operational software. Ms Phillips has 30 years extensive experience in financial and administrative management and systems implementation. Her accounting career began in the conference and trade show arena then moved to large media companies. She worked with drilling and service companies in the oil and gas industry before joining IADC.

JOSH SANCHEZJOSH SANCHEZ

LEAD ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

Josh Sanchez is IADC’s Lead Accounting Associate. He is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Additionally, he prepares documentation for mid and year end audits. Mr. Sanchez is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He joined IADC in 2012, bringing with him three years audit experience in the gaming industry and three years as an Operations Manager in the industrial supply industry.

Al serves as an Accounting Associate. He is responsible for Accounts Receivable, Conference Reporting, and also provides accounting assistance to all IADC Departments. He joined IADC in 2004 and has over 15 years of experience in Accounting.
