Mission Statement

The purpose of the Well Control Committee is to advance the drilling industry by providing an international, industry-wide forum for networking and exchanging of best practices, and setting of standards related to well control.

The main objectives of the Committee are:

-To promote an understanding of regulations, technical systems, and human factors affecting well control practices and events.
-To expand the awareness of good well control training and operational practices.

Well Control Committee Structure

A member appointed by the Chairman of IADC will chair the Well Control Committee.  The Committee Chairman may at his discretion appoint a reasonable number of Committee Vice-Chairman to oversee specific disciplines or issues.

Committee Meetings Policy

General meetings are open to all categories of IADC membership.  At the discretion of the chairperson and IADC staff, meetings or portions thereof may be exclusively reserved for Drilling Contractor Members.
