CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

IADC Critical Issues Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition is a landmark event for the drilling professionals interested. The conference addresses the challenges to the global drilling industry shaping business today and tomorrow. Regional operations have their own unique requirements; and IADC’s Critical Issues Asia Pacific 2013 will explore those opportunities and challenges to advancing global drilling technologies, finding solutions to common problems, and improving efficiency and profitability in the region. It is an excellent platform for everyone working in drilling and completions to network, forge business relationships and advance their technical skills.

IADC Critical Issues Asia Pacific 2013 will focus on regional Critical Issues and IADC invites submission of visionary abstracts for cutting-edge solutions on each area. Presentations that focus on lessons learned and how those lessons point toward a way forward will be particularly valued — how the lessons of yesterday and today can produce a vision for tomorrow. Also, presentations that pose provocative questions and prompt discussion are especially welcome.

NOTE: Authors of selected presentations may be asked to participate in panel sessions, rather than the technical sessions.

The committee is seeking topics on all aspects of Critical Issues, including, but not limited to:

  • Risk Management Solutions
  • Health, Safety & Environment
  • Well Control
  • Drilling & Completions Challenges
  • Regulatory Compliance & Impact
  • Innovative Application of Technical Solutions
    • Managed Pressure Drilling
  • Human Resources: Recruitment, Training, Retention
  • Planning, Implementation and Development
  • Local Compliance & Legal Issues

For consideration, an abstract for each proposed presentation must be submitted to IADC no later than 27 May 2013. Abstracts should include recommended or proven solutions whenever possible. Please include a statement of why you see the topic as a “critical issue” in the Asia Pacific region. Authors of papers selected will receive confirmation emails and guidelines by Mid June 2013. While submission of formal papers is encouraged, formal papers will NOT be required for this conference.

Prior to paper proposal submission, management clearance must be obtained. Any issues concerning clearance should be outlined when the paper proposal is submitted.
