Despite the recent slowdown in the US Gulf of Mexico, signs are emerging that deepwater drilling is expanding around the world. With oil prices and energy demand rising, offshore resources have a huge part to play in meeting global energy demand.

Once again, IADC will convene its International Deepwater Drilling Conference in Brazil, one of the preeminent deepwater venues in the world. The conference will examine cutting-edge technological advances and challenges for deepwater drilling and completions in key deepwater markets worldwide.

Papers on Deepwater applications are welcome, with a special emphasis on case histories. General subject themes envisioned for the event include the following, though abstracts exploring other areas will also be considered:

  • Subsalt drilling
  • Casing string management in deepwater
  • Monobore applications, including casing/liner drilling & expandables

For consideration, an abstract for each proposed presentation must be submitted online to IADC no later than 6 September 2011.
