KILLSHEETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

IADC is pleased to announce the release of its set of standardized kill sheets.  The official version of the Wait and Weight method killsheets are now available, for surface and subsea use in a variety of units of measurement.

These killsheets are being made available for public use free of charge.  WellCAP training providers are encouraged to use them, but their use is not mandatory.

The following Killsheets can be downloaded from the links below.  Each is in PDF format, about 140Kb file size.

These killsheets, and two others now in draft form, ready for public review, were developed by a subcommittee formed  by the IADC Well Control Committee.  The subcommittee concluded that due to the variety of formats and contents, a standardized Kill Sheet for the industry that can be used in both the classroom and in the field is warranted.

The subcommittee concluded that an "ideal" Kill Sheet would have the following characteristics:

• Easy to read and understand (legible font size and layout)
• Two-sided, letter size (8-1/2" x 11")
• Black and white with one color
• Surface and subsea stacks
• Covers most utilized methods (Wait and Weight, Bullheading, Drillers Method)
• Field (US Customary), Metric and SI Units
• Data Section
• Calculation section with boxes/lines
• Well diagram
• Decline schedule
• Conversion, formula and table section
• Available in Electronic Format (i.e., PDF)
• Allows customizing of heading with company name and logo
