  • Are current training methodologies meeting industry's needs?
  • How often should well control knowledge be refreshed?
  • Is advanced well control training needed?  If yes, what would it look like?
  • What is the future for WellCAP Plus?

Description:  A panel of well control simulator users and manufacturers will discuss ways to enhance well control training through simulator use.

  • How are well control knowledge and skills best assessed?
  • How the simulator can enhance classroom delivery?  Training  administrative processes (security, audit trail, report student performances, etc.)?
  • What instructors need or want from their simulator?
  • What should the instructors be required to know about the simulator or be capable of demonstrating on the simulators?
  • Should number and type of required well/simulator exercises be expanded within the WellCAP programs?
  • Is there benefit to IADC setting Recommended Practices for Simulator Usage (whether for instructor abilities, simulator capabilities, classroom usage, etc.)?
