Announcing:
IADC Stick-Slip Mitigation Workshop
Organized under the auspices of the Future Technology Subcommittee
of the
IADC Advanced Rig Technology Committee
|
|
Registration cost =
$50 (Payable at the door via
cash, Company check, or credit card only)
|
Mission Statement:
"To facilitate knowledge transfer and commercialization status of Stick-Slip mitigation technologies."
This workshop, sponsored by the IADC ART Future Technology Subcommittee, is intended to bring technology leaders and engineers together to discuss issues related to Stick-Slip mitigation. Led by specialists with operating and technology companies, its goal is to educate the industry regarding existing technologies available to address this issue as well as identify the need for possible future technologies. |

Roundtable Discussion
Moderator: Keith Womer, KW Technology Services
Audience interaction is strongly encouraged.
5 questions will be presented by the moderator:
- What level of expertise and training are required to run these systems?
- To what extent can the automated systems replace rig site expertise regarding stick slip?
- What improvements can enhance the products or services presented here (e.g., new/improved sensors, data rate, cost, performance)?
- What level of detection and mitigation seems the most cost effective?
- Where should future stick-slip mitigation investment be directed (e.g. education, planning, product performance, cost-effectiveness)?
Participants:
- Mark Dykstra, Shell
- John MacPherson, Baker Hughes Inc.
- Ryan Weeden, NOV ReedHycalog
- Svein Ove Aanesland, National Oilwell Varco
